The Distribution Problem
Built for an author who refused to give up control
I'd written, illustrated, and recorded my own audiobook, then hit the wall every indie author hits: how do you sell it without handing your margins and your customer relationship to a platform?
Spotify lost my audibook - twice! So I took matters in to my own hands and built my own player. Token-gated access tied to each purchase, sequential playback that remembers where you left off, per-listener analytics, and an automated email that delivers a private listening link the moment someone buys. No platform, no middleman, and full margin.
The result: a direct-sales audiobook business I own end to end. The same system is now what I install for other authors.
The Receipt Problem
Built for a business owner drowning in admin
My busy business partner was constantly losing receipts, and when he didn't lose them, he lost hours hunting them down and wrestling them into something his accountant could use. The real issue wasn't filing, it was capture: once the moment passed, the receipt was forgotten.
He's a visual thinker, so I built around the camera. Snap a photo, the app scans the details, files them, and sorts each one into the right account with a single dropdown, personal or business, done in the moment.
The result: dozens of hours back every month, a system he could maintain, and thousands saved in accounting fees.
The Flight Log Problem
Built for a drone content team buried in compliance
In a weekly team meeting, we clocked how much time was disappearing into coordinating FPV takeoffs and landings, plus the daily cost of paying a physical observer just to take notes. Federal flight logging meant all of it had to be documented anyway.
I built a real-time observer app: a start/stop timer that logs each flight, timestamps everything, and exports a clean spreadsheet ready for federal submission. The pilot tracks battery use and flags incidents or highlights the instant they happen.
The result: hours per shift collapsed into real-time logging, the cost of a dedicated observer gone, days returned every month.
The Coordination Problem
Built for a production agency running a citywide festival shoot
A festival across 20 locations with 10 shooters is a logistics nightmare. We needed to know who'd arrived on site, whether they had the right gear and shot list for their location, and where the schedule had conflicts, or gaps so tight that getting between sites was impossible.
I built a team tracker that handles all of it: site-specific equipment and shot lists, document management, conflict detection, and gentle push notifications so tired minds in the field don't drop important steps. All footage pulls into one central system.
The result: the work of a full-time project manager, automated, and days saved that used to vanish into chasing files.
Inefficiency identified. Logical solution shipped. Time and money returned.
